Don’t miss us Dimitri Caudrelier, CEO, at the “Race to Zero: Dialogue on Nature” panel and Marcial Vargas, Innovation Strategy Lead and moderator of a session on how businesses can contribute to a nature-positive world.
+ PANEL: How can business contribute to a nature-positive world?
6 September 2021 / 12:30-13:30
[Session in French] How can businesses contribute to a nature-positive world? While the manner, scope and measurement of the contribution from companies to this objective are being defined by the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN) and the IUCN in particular, many companies have already committed to integrating biodiversity into the heart of their business model. To outline the steps companies can take, the session features two panels:
- A presentation of L’OCCITANE‘s biodiversity strategy with representatives from the group, as well as partner farmers and suppliers (Firmenich).
- A deep dive into the biodiversity strategies of other companies, with representatives from Kering and others.
+ PANEL: Race to Zero: Dialogue on Nature
6 September 2021 / 15:30-17:00
The links between the climate and biodiversity crises — and how each can greatly amplify the negative consequences of the other — have been clearly demonstrated. Many have called for building synergies between the global efforts to address climate change and and the loss of biodiversity. How is this call reflected in how non-state actors — including businesses — are tackling their own emissions and their approaches to the conservation and restoration of nature? The session will feature:
- A presentation by Nigel Topping, the UK’s High-Level Climate Action Champion, appointed by the UK Prime Minister in January 2020.
- Input from Quantis’ Dimitri Caudrelier and other business leaders on how the risks and opportunities of nature conservation associated with climate change mitigation measures can be effectively managed.
