Being a core member of our Climate Community of Expertise, you will support clients in target setting and reduction measures in climate strategy field.
Does this describe you and your next role?
Professional background & expertise:
- You’re motivated to put your experience and skills to work towards our mission of aligning businesses with Planetary Boundaries, including climate, nature and water dimensions.
- You are driven by guiding companies in their transformation to a low-carbon economy, in line with the Paris Agreement goals.
- For 7+ years, you have been working as a project manager, at least 3-5 of which you have spent on calculating, interpreting, and advising on Corporate Footprints and Target Settings and reduction measures with a proven track record in the climate strategy field within a private sector company and/or consulting space.
- You have an in-depth knowledge of SBTi framework and related methodologies (SBTi FLAG, GHG Protocol, CDP, etc.).
- You have strong knowledge of the principles, actors, roles, issues/topics, instruments within the climate strategy space. You also have a good knowledge of carbon market mechanisms related (but not limited) to insetting and offsetting strategies.
- You have a general understanding of Life Cycle Assessment. Knowledge of LCA tools would be a plus.
Project Management skills
- You have developed strong project management skills – you know how to work with client teams and know how to deliver within agreed budgets and timelines.
- You are organized and able to structure your time with multiple projects and tasks.
- You are a quick learner and an action-oriented team player who works efficiently and independently.
- You share information and communicate effectively and efficiently, both verbally and in writing. You don’t hesitate to reach out for help and support when needed.
Education & academic background
- You hold a Master’s degree in Sustainability Management and/or Strategy.
- A double degree in Business or Agriculture is considered a plus.
- You have advanced experience with Microsoft office tools (PowerPoint & Excel mostly)
- You are completely fluent in English – French, Italian or German as a second language is considered a plus.
As our Sustainability Expert – SBTi, here’s a preview of what type of work your days will include:
Focus 1 – support client projects [55-65%]
- Act as a Project Lead for projects in relation with climate road mapping and target setting: corporate footprint calculations, identification of relevant action levers for decarbonization, perfect understanding of the SBTi frameworks (Near term, net zero, FLAG, etc.) and their implications for clients, definition of insetting / offsetting strategies.
- Intervene as an Expert to support project teams where additional operational insights on target setting and road mapping is needed
- Participate as an analyst in various project types that relate to Quantis other practices (strategy design, foot printing, supply chain, stakeholder engagement…) when needed
Focus 2 – Business development [15-25%]
- Work closely with the sector leads and account managers to identify new business opportunities. Participate in business development activities including building and writing compelling proposals and attending meetings with prospective clients
- Follow up with key accounts and existing clients who need to set up ambitious climate targets and build their net zero strategy
Focus 3 – Internal projects – Practice & Expertise [10-20%]
- Develop and document internal methodology frameworks and best-practices through case-studies and other training materials based on successful projects
- Be the internal point of reference for every key question concerning target settings, and be able to think out of the SBTi framework to anticipate client’s demands
- Develop and facilitate internal training about target settings, climate roadmaps and net zero strategies

Some logistics to consider
- Location: Switzerland (Zurich or Lausanne) preferred. Other Quantis locations might be considered.
- Optimal start date: Q2 2023
- Cross-time-zone collaboration with other Quantis branches (France, Italy, Germany, US) via web-conferences
- Ability to travel occasionally
