THE ROLE
This role supports the development and delivery of:
- ESG / sustainability strategies for our B2B and B2C clients including peer benchmarking and regulatory reviews and trends;
- compelling sustainability narratives and environmental claims based on transparent and science-based facts;
- online trainings of regulatory landscape and anti-greenwashing principles for credible communications;
- stakeholder engagement programs to educate and empower internal and external audiences around various sustainability topics and decisions;
- sustainability reporting such as CSRD, GRI, CDP etc.
As a Sustainability Specialist at Quantis you will support sustainability communication projects by:
- evaluating strategic insights by benchmarking peers and customers and evaluating sustainability trends in the respective sector(s),
- supporting the client’s ESG materials review, conducting data collection & reporting,
- crafting communication and engagement solutions for client teams and their customers,
- developing credible, trusted relationships with our client project teams,
- guiding them to a better understanding and articulation of their sustainability strategy, targets and actions while working collaboratively with Quantis project team.
You will be successful in your role if you:
- Possess creative communication skills both verbally and visually (for presentations, deliverables and online trainings)
- Reliably deliver comprehensive and strategic analyses in an efficient manner
- Bring a general understanding of business and/or sustainability challenges in one or more core sector(s)

DOES THIS DESCRIBE YOU AND YOUR NEXT ROLE?
- You’re motivated to put your strategic communications expertise to work towards our mission of aligning businesses with Planetary Boundaries.
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a sustainable business and marketing communications.
- You have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a brand strategy agency or management consultancy, working on ESG strategy, strategic marketing communications, stakeholder engagement, sustainability reporting and/or change management projects.
- You have a passion for sustainability topics such as climate, water, biodiversity, plastic, circularity, etc…
- You have a first professional experience performing, managing, interpreting and communicating on results and sustainability topics, in consulting, industry and/or academic context.
- A plus is if you have some knowledge about CSRD, CDP reporting, ESG regulatory landscape and strategy design
- You can collect, process, manage and interpret data in a form that is understandable to audiences with varying levels of knowledge on sustainability.
- You’re able to generate valuable insights from analysis, and the preparation of clear and compelling reports and presentations of results.
- You have some knowledge of Footprinting / Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and interest in developing deeper understanding of how corporate or product footprinting is conducted.
- You have an excellent knowledge of PowerPoint and online training tools (i.e. Mural/Muro).
- You have strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and basic design abilities.
- You’re motivated for teamwork and supporting a team.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in German is an advantage.
AS A SUSTAINABILITY SPECIALIST – COMMUNICATIONS AND ENGAGEMENT, HERE’S A PREVIEW OF WHAT TYPE OF WORK YOUR DAYS WILL INCLUDE:
- Supporting strategy-related communications sustainability projects (including stakeholder engagement, materiality assessments, communications strategy, and ESG reporting)
- Developing project materials, facilitating engagement workshops, and hosting training sessions
- Researching and drafting content for presentations, reports, and other communications
- Reviewing client communications and sustainability materials to shape client’s sustainability strategy, framework and/or ESG report
- Writing compelling copy for sustainability reports and presentations of analyses, results, insights, and recommendations
- Supporting the project team in helping the clients in their understanding and implementation of solutions.

- Location: Berlin, Cologne or NRW-region with flexibility to work remotely
- Optimal start date: as soon as possible
- Collaboration with other Quantis branches (France, Italy, Switzerland, USA) via web-conferences
- Ability to travel occasionally
