The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) has launched the Nature Action Portal, a new digital resource designed to help companies turn ambition into measurable action and direct investment toward solutions that credibly contribute to halting and reversing nature loss by 2030. As nature degradation and pressure to act accelerate, the Portal addresses the growing complexity of frameworks, metrics and disclosure requirements by offering a practical, user-friendly way for sustainability practitioners to identify relevant actions, metrics and targets across operations and supply chains.
Co-created with more than 100 companies, six service providers and numerous external partners, the first version provides actionable insights for five sectors, two supply chains and one cross-cutting topic, all tested with members and stakeholders. By helping harmonize existing nature-related action and disclosure guidance, the Portal supports companies in navigating extensive requirements and generating meaningful, comparable data—an essential foundation for signaling risks and justifying investments. It also offers a valuable transitional solution as WBCSD and the Nature Positive Initiative move forward with convening the development of a Nature Measurement Protocol.
