Munich Climate Week

19 October 2026 - 25 October 2026

Quantis will be joining Munich Climate Week to explore how businesses can turn sustainability challenges into opportunities for greater resilience and long-term value. On October 23, our experts will take part in BCG Sustainability Day, contributing perspectives on circularity, water and the business case for investing in more sustainable and resilient systems.

Taking place from October 19–25, 2026, Munich Climate Week is a city-wide initiative bringing together businesses, policymakers, academia, start-ups, NGOs and citizens to connect, exchange ideas and accelerate climate action. Across a week of events throughout the city, the programme explores practical solutions for a climate-neutral and resilient future.

Quantis will contribute to conversations on three areas increasingly central to business resilience: circularity, water and AI. During BCG Sustainability Day on October 23, our experts will join a panel exploring the case for circularity in European electronics, present insights from a new Quantis and WWF study and take part in a roundtable on pathways to restore Germany’s water balance. On October 19, Sophie Herrmann, Managing Director of Quantis Germany, will take part in a session hosted by Siemens on the opportunity of AI and sustainability in the industrial sector.

Our sessions:

From Sustainability to Competitiveness: How Industry Creates Resilience in a Changing World

Monday October 19 / 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Keynote: “From Signal to Scale – The Industrial AI Sustainability Opportunity“

Speakers:

  • Quantis Germany – Sophie Herrmann (Managing Director)
  • Siemens – Dr Jochen Gross (Head of Sustainability Data Strategy & Architecture)

BCG Sustainability Day: Circularity Insights – Building Resilience and Competitive Advantage

Friday, October 23 / 09:30 AM – 01:00 PM

Circularity is now a strategic necessity – a lever for resilience and growth. This morning brings together BCG’s leading circularity experts, industry pioneers and NGO partners to explore what that shift means in practice, from macro-economic potential down to individual product design.

10:15–11:00 — BDI x BCG Circularity Study: Growth, Competitiveness, and Resilience
BCG’s Patrick Herhold (Global Topic Leader, Decarbonization) and Alexander Meyer zum Felde (Global Circularity Leader) are joined by Dr. Claas Oehlmann (BDI Circular Economy) to present the economic case for circularity in Germany – where the value is, and how to capture it.

11:00–11:30 — Case Study: Train2Train, with Siemens
A hands-on look at circularity in action: Siemens’ pilot shows what it takes to close the loop on metals – where a train’s end of life becomes the starting for the next one.

11:30–12:00 — Circularity for Electronics, with Cradle to Cradle NGO & Quantis
A panel on the case for circularity in European electronics, looking at resilience, business models and Cradle to Cradle design principles.

12:00–13:00 — Networking Lunch

BCG Sustainability Day: Water Roundtable with Quantis – Pathways to Restore Germany’s Water Balance

Friday, October 23 / 01:00 PM – 03:00 PM

A few days of rain do not end a drought. Germany is not facing an isolated bad summer – we are in a water crisis, and the effects are already rippling through supply chains, business continuity, and human health. For many companies, water has long felt like a distant issue somewhere upstream in the supply chain. That is changing: rising temperatures and water stress are already forcing production slowdowns in water-intensive industries, and disruption to agricultural basins abroad has direct consequences for corporate supply security here in Germany.

Join us for a conversation on pathways to restore Germany’s water balance: how to expand availability, use water smarter, and build resilience for the years ahead – including how regenerative agriculture and landscape-level solutions can de-risk the basins companies depend on, and what role industry, agriculture, and policymakers each play. A scene-setting presentation by BCG and Quantis kicks things off, but the real focus is the exchange that follows on the roundtable – an open dialogue with practitioners from corporates, conservation, and the public sector.
