Certification
An attestation or guideline that displays an entity’s commitment to a certain characteristic. Certification in the context of sustainability can cover zero deforestation claims, sustainable productions, and carbon neutrality and require various levels of verification.
Fairtrade
An international label and set of environmental, social and economic standards. The Fairtrade mark is a symbol that a specific producer or business (such as a coffee brand) has met stringent environmental, social and economic standards.
Natural Capital Protocol (NCP)
A standardized decision-making framework that enables organizations to identify, measure and value their impacts and dependencies on nature.
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)
Contractural agreement between energy buyers and sellers; i.e. a developer installs an energy system for a customer.
Supply Shed (SS)
Group of suppliers providing similar goods and services that can be demonstrated within the company’s supply chain. ‘Supplier market’ includes tier 2 and above suppliers within supply shed that supply to ‘potential’ tier 1 suppliers of the company.
