This role supports the development and delivery of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategies solutions that address key challenges of Quantis clients, ensuring that the proposed delivery meets clients’ needs. Your mission will be to maintain Quantis at the cutting edge of your area of expertise to maximize the quality and impact of our advice to transform our clients, and to continuously improve our offerings.
As a Sustainability Expert – ESG Strategy you will:
- Be a subject matter expert for Quantis in the field of ESG Strategy, contributing to multiple client projects with your strategic sustainability consulting skills
- Develop credible, trusted relationships with senior client project contacts, guiding them from crafting the brief to developing ESG strategies, supporting ESG data collection & reporting, crafting communication and engagement solutions for internal workforce and customers.
You will be successful in your role if you:
- You’re able to lead strategic environmental sustainability projects
- You have strong client-facing skills, with the ability to understand client needs
- Master sustainability expertise areas such Environmental, Social and Governance strategy (corporate and product-oriented), target setting, materiality assessment, CSRD, reporting, sustainability communication and marketing, change management solutions for sustainability.

- You’re motivated to put your expertise to work towards our mission of aligning businesses with Planetary Boundaries
- For 8+ years you’ve been sharpening your ESG strategy skills in a professional setting, with some experience in the consulting and private sector
- You can quickly understand technical and complex topics and can translate them to a non-technical audience
- You’re able to define sustainability strategies, action plans and target settings
- You have experience in working on sustainability topics and reporting issues, especially around CRSD, non-financial disclosure, CDP reporting, ESG strategy design and development
- You can deliver stakeholder engagement projects, including but not limited to design ESG strategies, running materiality assessments, delivering CSRD-aligned gap analysis, preparing and writing sustainability reports, crafting compelling storylines
- You have worked with corporate senior executives and are at ease with challenging discussion
- You are self-confident, able to both listen and be assertive when needed to advice C-suite clients
- You’re motivated for teamwork and supporting a team
- You get excited about guiding companies to understand and design transformative and science-based strategy
- You have demonstrated the ability to coach, teach, and mentor others with your knowledge and skills, in an academic and/or corporate setting
- You communicate effectively in fluent German and English
AS A SUSTAINABILITY EXPERT, HERE’S A PREVIEW OF WHAT TYPE OF WORK YOUR DAYS WILL INCLUDE:
- Working closely with our Global and Branch Communication & Engagement team to manage and delivery projects and to develop new businesses
- Developing unique innovative solutions to address challenges related to sustainability strategies, communication & engagements solutions, together with other Sustainability Experts and Strategists
- Guiding our clients with a strong consultant posture from crafting the brief to developing excellent ESG strategy deliverables
- Write engaging stories that translate environmental metrics into relevant communication assets across digital/print media, including presentations, reports, infographics, brochures, videos
- Explaining many standard Quantis solutions and their interdependencies in a credible and compelling way
- Proactively identifying further sales opportunities at active clients
- Challenging an operating budget with additional services
- Mentoring and guiding Sustainability Specialists
- Identifying process or system improvements that could improve project team effectiveness
- Enabling the successful delivery of projects in every stage of own work

- Location: Berlin or NRW-region, with a flexible remote-working policy
- Frequent collaboration with other Quantis branches (France, Italy, Switzerland, USA) via web-conferences
- Ability to travel occasionally
